Plot[edit]

The show revolves around 2 half-sisters - Swara Bose (Helly Shah) who lives with her single mother Sharmishtha, and grandmother Shobha Bose, and Ragini (Tejaswi Prakash) who lives with her widowed father Shekhar Gadodia, and paternal grandmother Parvati Gadodia. They meet at a music competition, where they are finalists together.

The serial originally focused on their parents' age-old romance. Swara is the daughter of Sharmishtha and Shekhar, and as she discovers this, she befriends and successfully joins hands with Ragini to unite their parents.

Lakshya, Ragini's fiance, who loves Swara, helps them. Finding out about Swara and Lakshya, Ragini plots against the couple with Lakshya's evil cousin Sanskar. Swara helps reform Sanskar, and when the family turns against her, she calls off her engagement with Lakshya, and marries Sanskar as a ruse, but they eventually fall in love with each other. Ragini continues to turn the family against Swara, but is exposed and thrown out. Dejected, Lakshya attempts to kill Ragini, but is arrested.

Parvati blackmails Lakshya's father into giving his property to Ragini in exchange for Lakshya's release. Swara is unable to prevent this and a torturous Ragini now becomes the owner of the Maheshwari household. She tries to get Swara to divorce Sanskar and is successful when she offers her the property.

Kavita, Sanskar's ex-girlfriend who was presumed dead, comes to the Maheshwari household to marry Sanskar. She cancels her engagement as she finds out about Swara and Sanskar. However, she and Urvashi, Ragini's aunt, are only plotting against Swara, to get Sanskar, and Sharmishtha, blaming her for Ragini's mother's death. Swara and Ragini find this out and unite to throw the cunning duo out. A reformed Lakshya is released from prison. Ragini-Lakshya and Swara-Sanskar remarry.

Uttara, Sanskar's sister, falls in love with a greedy man Rajat, who later kidnaps Swara and jumps with her from a cliff, damaging her memory. Swara is saved by a musician Sahil, who returns her to her house, only to find out about Sanskar. He grows envious against the couple and kidnaps Swara, but is arrested.

Pole Shift

Sharmishtha is pregnant, and Parvati fakes her miscarriage by giving the infant up for adoption. Swara, with Sanskar, gets her brother back.

Lakshya is involved in a drug scandal and is imprisoned. Swara and Ragini plan to re-unite the brothers and return to their house.Following Adarsh's plan Lakshya goes missing and Swara leaves Sanskar to support her sister.

6 Months Later[edit]

The show takes a 6 months' leap. Ragini is devastated by Lakshya's death, but he resurfaces, and also proves Sanskar innocent, framed by Swara's childhood friend Nikhil. The two couples reunite, and the show ends on a happy note.
